Sukamade Beach is one of the beaches located in the Meru Betiri National Park area, precisely in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java. This beach is known for its natural beauty and the turtle conservation activities carried out there.

The Attraction of Sukamade Beach

Sukamade Beach has a unique attraction, namely as one of the turtle conservation beaches in Indonesia. Turtles are protected animals and are rarely found in the wild. At Sukamade Beach, visitors can see turtles laying eggs at night, which is certainly a very valuable experience.

In addition, Sukamade Beach also has a natural beauty that is still preserved. This beach has soft white sand and clear sea water. Around the beach there is also a forest that is still pristine, adding to the natural beauty of Sukamade Beach.

Pick Up

Our tour can pick you up and drop you off in Banyuwangi city areas such as hotels, stations, airports and ports.

4WD Car

The vehicle we prepare for you is a 4WD car. It is certainly tough enough to pass through the wilderness of Merubetiri National Park.

Homestay

We will prepare a decent homestay for you. We are in the middle of the forest, don't expect there to be AC or Fan, even so we will prepare it as comfortable as possible 🙂

Accommodation

On the tour you will get 3 meals and we provide bottled water

Area Permit

We will take care of the permits you need. You just have to enjoy the trip 🙂

Donation

The tour also includes donations of sea pandan tree seeds as a habitat or nesting place for turtles when they lay eggs.

Great park, the rangers who welcome you are very attentive. More than sufficient comfort, the walk from the park entrance is only 10km. No need for super expensive tours, excursion can be done independently ;)Incredible experience with wild turtles (advice: go to the beach before 5 a.m., you will be there alone and the chance of coming across a turtle returning to the sea after laying eggs is great... But don't touch the turtles!!) toucans, monkeys, and other natural wonders. River of cold and crystal clear water halfway... In short, everything we love :)

Unique experience to see the turtle lay eggs in the dark on the beach and release the baby turtles the next morning. Simple accommodation on the plantation. In the village you go back in time and that is also very nice. Huge bumpy road to get there so that is intensive.

Definitely a big program which worth the price and the time investment.That said it is not for everyone as the accommodation is bare minimal and basic. And that is what you have to consider if you are fine with it. The other part is luck: not always will you be lucky to see the turtles laying eggs. Most of the time you do, but there can be occasions where you won't and it could be tough.The rest is amazing! Great guides, stories, the village and the people in it are lovely and open in general. Take a walk there and if you have the time visit the rubber and coffee factory as well.The turtles were of course the main show and both events with them was phenomenal! The egg-watch and the baby turtle release both are experiences worth alone the travel there.At the end I was really tired but this was an amazing experience!

February'24This is definately not the place if you're looking for comfort zone.The journey itself will broke you physical and mentality.But, behind the scene it was trully paradise!All natural things surround you!Jungle, beach, animals, flora, it was good!Definately superb for who look some adventure instead just take a selfie and dance for content....

Best place to see the turtle laying eggs and join the hatchlings release. It is better to stay in the National Park area which is closer to the beach
